Red Tag Special.

This is not some deal at an ABQ discount store.  It has to do with red tags on appliances.  What does it mean when a gas appliance is “red-tagged”?  When the gas service to a home has been turned off by the local utility at a departing homeowner’s request or because of an unpaid bill, reactivating is not as easy as getting the electricity back on.

The first step that you need to take is to make an appointment for the right person to open the house so that a professional technician may go in to inspect for gas leaks and do a safety check of all the gas appliances before permanently unlocking the shut-off valve at the meter.  If there are any defects then a red and white tag is attached with a “do not use” sign.

All of this requires the proper professional to inspect your appliances and give them a clean bill of health.  In Albuquerque the answer to your next question is Eric Montoya of E M Plumbing.  Eric is a central New Mexico red tag inspection pro.  You will find him to be the right guy for the job of appliance inspection.  Call him at (505) 980-9334.

Turn on the Gas.

Well, before you do that you have to install the gas lines in your new Albuquerque home.  That is a project for a professional.  However, we want you to understand the process.  It is best to be informed as to how these new gas lines are being installed so that you have a better grasp of how your new home’s gas system is working.

Here are some of the steps toward installing a new gas line –

1.  Getting the right pipes and fittings for each unique job
2.  Extending the existing gas line by fitting the valves and pipe lengths
3.  Using the correct flexible pipe when connecting an appliance
4.  Spreading the proper mixture of water and dish liquid over each seam

These are some of the things that Eric Montoya of E M Plumbing will be doing.  Eric is a professional gas line installer of new homes in Albuquerque and the surrounding area.  Construction companies and home owners would do well getting to know Eric for all of their plumbing needs.  Give him a call at (505) 980-9334.

Installing a New Natural Gas Line.

This is NOT a DIY job.  Okay, do we understand each other?  I hope so!  I think most of us know that before we even begin this discussion.  Are you having a new stove installed or are you  replacing an old one?  Keep in mind that gas leaks are the most common cause of fire-related accidents.

First of all, the floor in front of the stove should be covered with cardboard.  Your home must already have its own natural gas line that has been installed by a licensed supplier.  The new gas range will be brought to the kitchen where it will be installed.  This is only the beginning of the project.

From here, holes need to be cut, and measurements need to be taken.  Think professional.  Think about someone who has done this over and over again for years.  Think about Eric Montoya.  Eric is Albuquerque’s natural gas line installation professional.  Anytime you need a pro call Eric Montoya at (505) 980-9334.

Don’t Touch that Gas Line!

We hope that you know better.  That long tube is like a rattlesnake with an attitude.  It is not something that an untrained professional should ever mess with!  Take a gas leak in your home or business VERY seriously.  It is not only costly if you try to do it yourself, it is also potentially extremely dangerous.

So, what are the common issues with gas line repair?  In many cases water that has been dripping on pipes may have lead to corrosion.  Another surprisingly common problem in ABQ is that the pipes were installed improperly in the first place.  There is another typical problem that causes a gas leak…the thread sealant dries out.

The bottom line is that gas leaks at your home or office should be dealt with only by a licensed professional.  In our area that company is EM Plumbing Heating and Mechanical.  They are Albuquerque’s safe gas line repair expert.  From the first sight or smell go right to your phone and call EM at (505) 980-9334.
